The process of development is becoming increasingly complex while projects are frustrated by skills shortages.

We complete projects to the desired quality, on budget and for a reasonable cost.  This requires an ability to specify and inspect the works, understand and administer contracts, address areas of risk and project manage the multiple parties that can be involved.

We work on small residential projects and large developments.

Specification of building works

Utilising NBS (national building specification) software we produce specifications, schedules of work, drawings etc. commensurate with the works to be instructed.

Repair and maintenance

We specialise in external repair, maintenance and decoration contracts to comply with lease requirements of commercial buildings.

Conservation areas and listed buildings

For listed buildings or buildings within conservation areas we can manage the planning procedure. Our experience of historic buildings allows us to communicate and agree with local conservation officers.

Contract Administration

The contract administrator is usually instructed by the client to administer the terms of the contract. We have extensive experience of standard contract forms.  In performing this duty the CA must recognise the duties of the dual role of agent for the employer and impartial administrator of the contract.

Project Management

The rise of project management as a discipline is a reflection of the increasing complexity of projects. The Core skill set of a Chartered Building Surveyor makes them ideally placed to fulfil this role. We undertake instructions to manage projects, review projects and monitor projects on behalf of investors.

Construction Design and Management Regulations 2015

The recent revision of the CDM Regulations has extended the scope to include residential / domestic projects. Where required by the regulations we act as Principal Designer. We can advise on the duties of the Client and the role of Principal Contractor.
